Nineyards Law: the firm

Nineyards Law was founded in 2015 by former Dutch equity partners of International law firms, including Baker McKenzie and Bird & Bird. Nineyards Law was established as a full service firm in the heart of Amsterdam’s financial district, with the aim of carrying on a highly skilled national and international legal practice.

Nineyards Law serves all jurisdictions in the field of commercial law, both nationally and internationally. It does so either directly or – for example in tax law – indirectly through highly specialised boutique firms.

Nineyards Law focuses on certain specific industry sectors among which life sciences, TMT, healthcare, infrastructure, real estate, construction, engineering,  outsourcing and  retail.

Nineyards Law: pricing

Nineyards Law’s objective is to offer its clients value for money. To help achieve this, and also to accelerate our continuous drive to deliver services in the most effective and cost-efficient way, Nineyards Law offers a full spectrum of fee arrangement possibilities.

While in some matters it may be most suitable to align our clients’ interests with our own through a risk and success sharing arrangement, in certain matters clients are served best with a fixed price. In other matters, classic hourly billing is still the most appropriate fee arrangement.

In other words: our top priorities are achieving optimal results, making legal spend more predictable and manageable while aligning our interests with those of our clients.

Therefore, Nineyards Law is based on innovation in client-focused service delivery.

Nineyards Law: a substantial international and local client base

Nineyards Law deals with large and mid-size matters that require multidisciplinary and frequently multinational teams composed of strategic thinkers willing to go ‘the whole nine yards’. Nineyards Law believes in striking the right balance between rigour and pragmatism, especially when the stakes are high and the pressure is on. Nineyards Law puts business in a legal context, not the other way around. The needs of our clients go hand in hand with our legal expertise.

Nineyards Law: the people

The lawyers at Nineyards Law all look at the bigger picture, and leave no stone unturned on our path to aiding our clients. All partners of Nineyards Law are endowed with the same big firm DNA and all have years of international experience in the legal profession. We are proud of our experienced legal staff and our flexible supply of temporary legal staff, the ‘flexpool’. These are all lawyers with a variety of interests and experience. The flexpool enables us to respond effectively to workload peaks. The flexpool consists of carefully selected interim lawyers and independent legal advisors. The flexpool enables us also to have specific kinds of work done at lower fees, to the direct benefit of our clients. We see the flexpool as a successful and cost-efficient solution for our clients.

Nineyards Law is committed to fostering an environment in which diversity of every type can flourish and in which every lawyer is positioned to thrive.

Nineyards Law: languages

Our lawyers are completely familiar with a range of languages in which they are fully proficient, enabling them to communicate in practically every accepted international business language clients may require and/or feel most comfortable with. These languages include English, French, German, Spanish, and of course Dutch.
